Devotional: Ask, seek, and knock
Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:7-8 that we are to ask, seek, and knock. What are we supposed to ask, seek, and knock? Is it a wish list where God grants us all of our wants and desires? Let’s look at these three words from God’s view, and we will find the answer.
Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
These three words could be changed to pray, pray, and pray. We are to pray to receive wisdom and discernment. We are to pray to find the truth of God’s word and we are to pray to get into heaven thru the door that only Jesus Christ can open. We ask for forgiveness of our sins, we seek God’s will not our will and we knock on the door which is Jesus to receive the Holy Spirit, our comforter and teacher.
God is not a Genie in a bottle where you rub the bottle and a Genie pops out and grants you three wishes. God is a loving God who wants the best for us. But if we are constantly asking for worldly things, like cars and money, and fame, then we are following after the world and seeking our own glory and not following after God.
God provides all of our needs, not all of our wants. So when you pray, ask, seek, and knock for your needs, ask, seek, and knock for God to guide you and to show you His path for your life. Ask, seek, and knock for His will for you and to help you serve Him. If you do that, you will be happier and more fulfilled. You will have less stress because you aren’t worrying about the things you wish you had or don’t have, because you will be living to follow Jesus and not the world. True happiness and peace come from following Jesus Christ and doing the things he tells us to do.
If you haven’t asked Jesus to come into your life as LORD, then that is the only thing you should be asking, seeking, and knocking for. Ask Jesus to forgive your sins, seek forgiveness, and knock and ask Jesus to come and be LORD of your life. Today is the day.
Email us, and we will be happy to help you.
I pray that this is a blessing to you all.

Devotional: Who is Jesus to you?
In Matthew 16:15, He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Jesus was asking His disciples this question, but He is really asking all of us this question. It is a question that everyone must answer. It is the only question in your life that matters.
This is a very personal question. To answer this question, you must believe that Jesus loves you so much that He would die for you and take your place on the cross. We all sin and come short of the glory of God; that is what the bible tells us in Romans 3:23. We deserve eternal punishment, but Jesus loves you far too much to let that happen. So, the perfect one gave up His place in heaven for a moment in time so that you could answer this question with confidence, knowing He is the Lord Jesus Christ and He is your Lord and Savior.
Some will answer correctly, like Peter did, and say, "You're the Christ". Some will refuse to answer the question at all and just ignore it. The problem with that is by looking the other way and giving no answer, you are answering the question. To quote the band Rush and their song Freewill, "if you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice".
Some will say that Jesus was a historical figure, but He died and has no significance to me. And you do have the gift of free will from God to make that choice, but when you are judged and sent to eternal punishment for making that choice, you will know that it was the wrong choice, but it will be too late to fix it.
There is only one correct answer. You know in your heart that this is true. Don't believe the lies that Satan tells the world, that there are many ways to answer this question, or that there are many ways to get to heaven. Jesus said in the gospel of John, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one gets to the Father except by me". You can't be a good enough person; you can't earn it. You just have to believe and trust in Jesus.
Jesus is asking you this question. Today is the day to say, "You are my Lord and savior".
How do you ask Jesus into your heart?
Paul says in Romans 10:8-10, 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame
Are you ready to confess and believe? Then confess out loud, Jesus, you are the Lord, and I believe that you died for me and God raised you from the dead. If you say it and mean it then you are born again and we welcome you to the family of God.
Please let us know, we would love to help you on your walk with the Lord. God loves you more than you could ever understand. And we love you.
May this be a blessing to you!
